Paceman Ryan Harris and spinner Michael Beer both nabbed four wickets to dismiss the local side for 201, with Dwayne Smith the best of the batsmen hitting 62, before the tourists were 81-2 in response.
Opener Shane Watson made 42, partner Ed Cowan fell for 12, with Michael Clarke (11) and Ricky Ponting (eight) the not out batsmen overnight.
Harris said the pitch did not over much in terms of grass, but it did not stop the strike bowler from throwing his name in the selectors' ring for fir...

Gaunt played in three Tests, debuting at Durban in January 1958. His second Test was at The Oval in 1961, taking 3-53 in the first innings, and his third Test was against South Africa at Adelaide in 1963-64.
He toured New Zealand with Australian teams in 1957 and 1960 and was flown to South Africa in 1957-58 as a replacement for the injured Ian Meckiff and John Drennan.
He was also a member of Richie Benaud's victorious Ashes tour of England in 1961.

The fifth edition of the T20 tournament gets underway on Wednesday with the Super Kings favourites to defend the title they won with a convincing win over Royal Challengers Bangalore last year.
"Albie Morkel has done a really good job (as a pacer). Our spinners Jackie (Shadab Jakati) and R Ashwin have been fantastic," Bollinger said.
"So I don't think we feel that much pressure. We won back-to-back IPL editions.
"I think we are pretty relaxed going into the fifth se...

Last month the duo were playing in the Bupa Sheffield Shield final loss against Queensland, but neither man did enough to secure their positions for next summer.
Drew bowled just seven overs in the first innings of the final and went for 56 runs, while he wasn't used in the second innings as the Tigers came within three wickets of pulling off a miraculous victory.
Kruger also had a disappointing match, making just one in the first innings before failing to trouble the scorers in his second ...

The Windies have won just three of their last 28 Tests, slipping to seventh in the rankings on the back of the poor run.
The teams shared the spoils in both the one-day international and Twenty20 series, and Ponting said it was important Australia stayed focused ahead of the Tests.
"We spoke about it yesterday, about how competitive we think they'll be and how prepared we have to be to win the Test matches over here," Ponting said after training at Kensington Oval, as Australia ...

The tourists will take on a West Indies Cricket Board President's XI at Bridgetown starting on Monday, and the Victorian 27-year-old said he hopes to be included in the attack, with fellow pacemen James Pattinson, Ryan Harris, Mitchell Starc and Ben Hilfenhaus fighting for three spots in the side.
"I think everyone wants to expect to play. You never want to be thinking that you're not going to play, but you never know," Siddle said at a press conference.
"You just have to see how the body's...

The tourists failed to add to their win in the first Twenty20, as they failed to chase down the hosts' 160, making only 9-146 in Bridgetown.
Bailey said while his bowlers restricted the home side's batting in the final 10 overs of their innings, the momentum gained was too much for the Windies to lose after their lighting start.
"For a game that's so reliant on momentum, I thought we did a really great job to pull it back to 160," Bailey said, after Darren Sammy's side were 110-3 in the 10t...

Chasing the home side's massive total of 4-219, India were 71 for no loss after 7.5 overs when thunderstorms lashed the ground and forced the match to be called off early, leaving India just short under the Duckworth-Lewis system.
Gautam Gambhir (49 off 28 deliveries) and Robin Uthappa (18 off 19) gave India a flying start, with Albie Morkel (1-16 from one over) and Rusty Theron (1-13 off one) coming in for some punishment.
Earlier, Ingram's 78 from 50 balls helped South Africa post a daunt...

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Windies posted a decent score of 160 and the visitors fell short in response, managing 9-146 from their 20 overs.
The hosts got off to a flyer with man-of-the-match Dwayne Smith (63 off 34 balls) and Johnson Charles (37 off 21) smashing a whirlwind opening partnership of 72 off just 40 deliveries to put them well and truly in command.
Smith plundered four sixes and six boundaries while Charles hammered a six to go with his six fours.

Kallis could only manage six runs in his sole innings in the second Test against New Zealand before missing the third match while Sangakkara scored a duck and 14 in his country's 75-run first-Test victory over England on Thursday.
As a result Kallis moved down to third and Sangakkara slipped to fourth position.
But their misfortune is Clarke's gain and he now joins Kallis' team-mate AB de Villiers atop the rankings.
De Villiers hit 189 runs at 63.00 in his last three inni...

Australia have the perfect chance to improve a dreadful Twenty20 away record with a win in the second 20-over clash against the West Indies.
Not since their first ever T20 series - against New Zealand in 2005 - have Australia won an away series in the shortest format of the game.
Carrying a 1-0 lead after their eight-wicket win in the first game of the series, the clash on Saturday (AEDT) is as an excellent opportunity for George Bailey's team.
Shane Watson and Michael Hussey backed up a s...

A superb innings from Jonathan Trott (112) gave the tourists some hope at Galle International Stadium, but they were bowled out for 264 early in the final session.
Spin duo Rangana Herath (6-97) and Suraj Randiv (4-74) did all the damage for Sri Lanka as they took a 1-0 lead in the two-Test series.
Herath collected man of the match honours with career-best match figures of 12-171.
England must win the second Test, which starts in Colombo on Tuesday, if they are to hold onto their number on...
