Along with his teammates, PKF Tasmania Tigers’ in-form all-rounder Luke Butterworth is firmly focused on the Ryobi Cup Final against South Australia on Saturday at the Adelaide Oval.

But Butterworth has a second campaign on the mind, assisting with the promotion and awareness of Donate Life Week which started on the February 19 and concludes on Sunday – the day Butterworth and teammates hope to be celebrating victorious efforts of the proceeding day.

Donate Life Week is part of the Australian Government’s national awareness campaign to increase family discussion about each other’s organ and tissue donation wishes.

Luke’s understanding of the importance of organ donation is intimate. His wife Brooke, a Cystic Fibrosis sufferer, received a double lung transplant in 2009.

“Donate Life is an awareness campaign to increase family discussion about each other’s wishes,” Butterworth said.

“I’d like to personally urge you to ask and know your loved one’s wishes in regards to organ and tissue donation.”
