Two of the most talented teams in the country put on a brilliant display of squash Sunday afternoon in the Murr Center, but for the ninth straight time in this rivalry, it was Princeton that came away with a victory. The 5-4 win leaves Princeton in control of its own destiny in the Ivy League race.

Led by respective No. 1 players Todd Harrity and Julie Cerullo, the Princeton men's and women's squash teams will head to Amherst, Mass., this weekend for the 2012 CSA individual national championships. Harrity is the reigning men's champion, while Cerullo made the semifinals last year.

As a freshman, Kelly Shannon was the last Princeton player to post a victory in the historic 2009 national team final against Trinity. Unfortunately, his was only the fourth win in an eventual 5-4 loss. Following Princeton's 8-1 quarterfinal win over Dartmouth Friday, Shannon is one match away from getting another shot at the national title on his home court.

After two years of heartbreakingly close losses to eventual Ivy League champion Yale, the third-ranked Princeton men's squash team wasn't in any mood for drama Saturday afternoon. The Tigers scored an 8-1 victory over top-ranked Yale to move to 9-1 overall and 4-0 in the Ivy League.
