Saint Joseph's sophomore Daniel Thorpe tossed his first career complete game and Brett Tiagwad scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth as the Saint Joseph's baseball team eliminated Rhode Island with a 3-2 victory. By virtue of their win, the Hawks will advance to take on Saint Louis later on Friday afternoon at Houlihan Park.

The Spiders fell to the Dayton Flyers, 9-5, in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Tournament on Friday afternoon.

After winning its fourth consecutive Atlantic 10 Championship title and making its third NCAA Tournament appearance in the last four years, the UMass women's lacrosse team placed five Minutewomen on the IWLCA All-Region Teams as announced on Thursday. Katie Ferris and Ali Houlis were both named to the First Team, while Jesse O'Donnell, Riley Perry and Nina Sarcona were named to the second team. The five selections marked the most in program history.

After finishing the 2012 season as the NCAA's fourth leading point scorer and leading the UMass women's lacrosse team's offense to a No. 2 ranking, sophomore Katie Ferris was named to the WomensLax.com All-American Team on Friday morning. Ferris tallied 98 points to set a new UMass and Atlantic 10 single-season record and ranked fourth in the NCAA this season in points.

Anthony Biscardi, Tom Celentani, Art Kell and Tom Celentani will take part in the 71st annual USILA/LaxWorld 2012 North-South Senior Game which will take place Friday night at Harvard Stadium starting at 5:30 PM. Tickets are available at the gate for $5.
