Former Quinnipiac University men’s basketball standout James Feldeine (New York, N.Y.) has extended his stay over in Spain, as the 6-foot-4 guard has signed a new contract with Club Baloncesto Fuenlabrada. Feldeine enjoyed two seasons with Leche Rio Breogan Lugo, but announced on Monday, May 21, 2012 that he will wear new colors for the next three years.

Quinnipiac baseball sophomore Zak Palmer (Mahwah, N.J.) and freshman Vincent Guglietti (East Haven, Conn.) earned All-Northeast Conference honors as announced by the conference office on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Palmer was named as an All-NEC First Team selection at third base while Guglietti earned Second Team honors as a designated hitter.

Quinnipiac baseball sophomore Zak Palmer (Mahwah, N.J.) was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week while classmate Nick Fabrizio (Peabody, Mass.) was named the NEC Pitcher of the Week. This is the second award that Palmer has earned this year while Fabrizio earns his first weekly award, and Quinnipiac’s first since Kyle Birdsall won the award on April 11, 2011.

The Quinnipiac University softball team (29-15, 12-6) will host Saint Francis (Pa.) University (21-25, 8-10 NEC) in a rescheduled Northeast Conference doubleheader on Saturday, May 5 at the QU Softball Field. The Quinnipiac University men’s basketball team took some time away from their studies and traveled across town to Yalesville Elementary School in Wallingford, Conn. to take part in an afterschool program on Monday afternoon. Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach Sean Doherty and members of the team spoke to the several students about the importance of balancing education and athletics in preparation for college.
