Baylor's track and field team completed a solid second day at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds with five more qualified for the NCAA Championships on Friday at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.

Six members of the Auburn track and field team earned berths to the semifinals in their respective events in two weeks at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Des Moines, Iowa with their performances on Friday at Hodges Stadium in the 2012 NCAA East Prelim.

Declan Murray fell fractions of a second short of advancing to the NCAA Championship, finishing 13th in the 800m at the NCAA West Regional this evening in Austin, Texas. It marks the second consecutive season that Murray advanced to the regional final and caps an outstanding individual season that saw him set or extend four individual school records and one relay mark.
