Three members of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's indoor track and field team have been honored for their performances at the Little East Conference and New England Alliance Championships at the University of Southern Maine Fieldhouse Saturday.
Three members of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's tennis team have earned post-season honors from the Little East Conference.Sophomore Allison Furtado (Fairhaven, MA/Fairhaven HS) was named second team All-Conference at number four singles, while freshman Hannah Schulze (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford HS) and junior Liz Girczyc (Attleboro, MA/Attleboro HS) were named second team All-LEC at number three doubles.
Host Bridgewater State won two of the three doubles matches and went on to defeat the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's tennis team, 5-2, in their Little East Conference Tournament semi-final match at the Dr. Henry Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts Saturday. Following conference rules, the match was terminated as soon as the Bears won five matches.
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's tennis team won two of the three doubles matches, and went on to defeat visiting Southern Maine, 5-1, in a first round match in the Little East Conference Tournament at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex Tuesday. Following conference rules, the match was terminated as soon as the Corsairs won five matches.
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's tennis team will begin post-season play when they host Southern Maine in the first round of the Little East Conference Tournament Tuesday afternoon. The fourth-seeded Corsairs and fifth-seeded Huskies will meet at 3:00 p.m. at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex.
