McPherson, Kan. -- The McPherson Bulldogs limited the Mid-America Christian Evangels to only one shot-on-goal in a 3-0 win Saturday afternoon (Sept. 17) in McPherson, Kan.
Juan Garcia got the Bulldogs on the board in the 15th minute off a pass from Michael Phillips for a 1-0 lead.
The Bulldogs took that one-goal lead into the half when Jared Kientz scored off an assist from Heriberto Garcia 2:44 into the second half.
Tarek Khalidi then assisted on a goal by Tito Ruiz at the 56:34 mark to put it away for the Bulldogs.
The Evangels (2-3-1) were out-shot 14-8 overall and 7-1 on-goal.
Zane Bourne made four saves in the net for the Evangels, while Blake Jett stopped the Evangels' only shot-on-goal.
Javier Hernandez had a team-high two shots for MACU.
The Evangels won't play again for 10 days, when they will open up play in the Sooner Athletic Conference at home against Oklahoma Baptist on Sept. 27 at 5 p.m.
